Dr. Amira Shaheen, a distinguished Professor of Public Health and Epidemiology at An-Najah National University's Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, and Dr. Adel Jaidi, a respected Professor specializing in Renewable Energy and Sustainability Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology, lent their expertise to the jury of the 2022 Taawon Awards for Excellence and Achievement. This prestigious event was orchestrated by the Welfare Association - Taawon.

The Taawon Awards winners were unveiled during an elegant ceremony hosted at the Carmel Hotel in Ramallah, alongside a concurrent celebration at Heavens Restaurant in Gaza. These events marked the culmination of the Welfare Association - Taawon's efforts to honor exceptional institutions and individuals.

The judging panel members were celebrated for their pivotal roles in meticulously evaluating applications and conducting on-site visits to various institutions. Dr. Shaheen was lauded for her invaluable contributions to the review and assessment process for the Jerusalem Award category, while Dr. Jaidi was recognized for his dedicated involvement in evaluating applications for the Youth Award category.

Significantly, the Taawon Awards for Excellence and Achievement were inaugurated in early 2003. This initiative underscores the Welfare Association's steadfast belief in the significance of qualitative endeavors and its earnest commitment to acknowledging the accomplishments and ingenuity of the Palestinian populace. Generous funding for these awards is provided by notable individuals and Association members. Mr. Munir Al-Kalouti wholeheartedly supports the Jerusalem, Youth, and Distinguished Teacher Awards, while the Taawon's Distinction in Culture Award is graciously funded by the sons of the late Naim Abdel-Hadi.
