An-Najah National University's Arabic for Non-Native Speakers Institute held two successful International Proficiency Exam sessions for those learning Arabic as a second language. These sessions reflect the University's commitment to fostering language skills and cultural connections worldwide.


The first session took place on July 1st, 2023, at the University of Piraeus in Athens. Building on this success, the second session occurred on July 8th, 2023, at the University of Macedonia in Thessaloniki, Greece's northern hub.

Guided by Dr. Raed Abdel Raheem, the Institute's Director, and Dr. Abdul Khaleq Issa, Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs for Humanitarian Faculties, the exams attracted a diverse group of enthusiastic participants, with one hundred students showcasing their language proficiency.

Dr. Abdel Raheem highlighted that the exam adheres to European language standards, featuring six proficiency levels (A1 to C2) for participants to choose from based on their skill levels.

He further stated, "The Institute for Arabic Language Learning welcomes students from diverse backgrounds, providing an array of academic programs and tailored curricula. Additionally, the Institute offers cultural and voluntary extracurricular courses and activities."

Dr. Abdel Khaleq Issa emphasized the vital role of this examination in standardizing the evaluation of Arabic language proficiency. Beyond the evaluative aspect, the exam establishes linguistic bridges and enhances cultural communication, engaging individuals from diverse corners of the world. It also underscores the university's dedication to nurturing an enduring passion for mastering the Arabic language.
