On Monday, April 17, 2023, An-Najah National University signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the International Institute for the Unification of Private Law (UNIDROIT).


The signing of the MOU took place via Zoom and was attended by the University President, Prof. Abdel Nasser Zaid, along with esteemed guests including UNIDROIT's Secretary-General, Professor Ignacio Tirado, the President of UNIDROIT, Professor Maria-Chiara Malaguti, and Dr. Philine Wehling, Legal Officer at UNIDROIT. Dr. Ghassan Khaled, Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Law, Miss. Yamama Daoud, Acting Director of the Public Relations Department, and Miss. Summer Abu Mughli, International Affairs Coordinator, represented the University and were also in attendance.

The MOU aims to promote academic and cultural cooperation between the two institutions in the field of private and commercial law. It seeks to provide opportunities for student and faculty exchange, training, and research collaboration.

Moreover, the two parties have agreed to organize seminars, workshops, and courses, and conduct joint research projects and academic initiatives. These efforts will be within the framework of the 1995 UNIDROIT Convention Academic Project (UCAP) and will focus on the international protection of cultural property.

This partnership between An-Najah University and UNIDROIT signifies a major step forward in enhancing legal education, research, and cultural exchange. It will open doors to new opportunities and collaborations that will benefit the academic and professional communities in both institutions.
