An-Najah Launches the “Najah Virtual Augmented Reality” Center (NVAR)

On Wednesday, March 30, 2022, An-Najah National University in cooperation with EON Reality, the global leader in Augmented and Virtual Reality-based knowledge and skills transfer for industry and education, launched the “Najah Virtual Augmented Reality” Center (NVAR). The Center aims at providing interactive 3D solutions for business and education based on Virtual Reality technology.
"We couldn’t be happier to be a part of the EON Reality family and to set up an EON-XR Center in our University. We see multiple benefits with the deployment of the EON-XR platform for our students, faculty and community since we will become a part of the EON Reality’s Global Academic Community for Remote Learning." Prof. Abdel Nasser Zaid, the University's President said on this occasion.
“A university with as much history as An-Najah National University is always a privilege to work with, because it shows that their passion for education goes far beyond what we see in the modern classroom. By providing them with a variety of EON-XR solutions, we’ll be able to ensure that An-Najah remains one of the top schools in Palestine and beyond for years and decades to come. I believe that this is only the beginning of a wonderful partnership with An-Najah University.” — Dan Lejerskar, Founder of EON Reality.
Dr. Allam Mousa, NVAR Director, gave a presentation about the center, noting that through EON-XR, the University’s educators will be able to offer “hands-on” training to their students regardless of location or subject matter. By closing the gap in quality between in-person labs and distance learning via XR solutions, An-Najah can provide the best possible academic experience for those on their Nablus campus as well as those studying remotely.
He also pointed out that the newly established center is equipped with a set of the latest augmented reality technology. Furthermore, he pointed out that several courses have been designed in the field of AR.
As EON Reality’s first partner in Palestine, the University offers a variety of new possibilities to the XR veterans as well. While the initial partnership will focus on providing EON-XR solutions for students and faculty, the hope is for EON Reality’s presence in the area to expand the desire for the technology beyond the campus walls and to both educators and employers throughout the entire region.
EON-XR is designed to bring Augmented and Virtual Reality solutions to as many people around the world as possible, EON-XR removes the obstacles that often come with incorporating AR and VR into an academic or industrial environment. Through EON-XR, educators, trainers, employers, and other users are able to create interactive and immersive AR and VR lessons without needing any coding or advanced technological knowledge. The lessons can then be distributed to their audience of students, trainees, employees, or the general public for consumption on common devices ranging from smartphones to laptops to publicly available headsets. EON-XR is preparing millions of students, employees, and citizens for the present and future while both replacing and aiding traditional training and teaching methods in dozens of countries around the world.
