The Moodle Educator Certification (MEC) program goes beyond Moodle’s Learn Moodle Basics, Moodle Teaching Basics and Moodle Teaching Next Level and emphasizes the importance of developing educators’ pedagogic and professional competencies to enhance and innovate online education and training. Available in multiple languages and designed for experienced teachers, the MEC covers 22 competencies defined by the European Union in six content-rich courses.

The 48-hour intensive training course lasted for three months, and it was given by certified service providers who have been trained and certified by Moodle HQ to facilitate the courses, as well as providing trainers with custom training and support.

Assessment in MEC courses consists of one quiz per competence and two writing assignments. To successfully complete any of the MEC courses, candidates need to pass each quiz with a minimum score of 80% and reach level B2 (Expert) in both of the writing assignments.
