“Open Education: Fundamentals and Approaches”, New Massive Open Online Course

The E-Learning Center at An-Najah National University announced the launch of a new massive open online course titled: “Open Education: Fundamentals and Approaches”.
The course was produced within the OpenMed project with the support of EU Erasmus+ program.
The free course aims to build capacity on open education and open educational resources (OER) among universities in the South Mediterranean region.
The course assists primarily university teachers with an interest in learning more about open education and with a motivation to adopt open education approaches and OER into their teaching.
The course also aims to produce well qualified teachers who will be able to understand the potential advantages of adopting OER and open education approaches in different contexts, understand how content released under different kinds of open licences can be reused and apply open licenses to their content, search for, reuse and remix OER. In addition, it focuses on understanding what MOOCs are and how to produce MOOCs, adapting OER and MOOCs to their specific context and incorporating open educational practices into their daily teaching.
The course will be launched on February 5, 2020.
