Dr. Hasan Ayoub, Head of the Political Sciences Department at An-Najah has recently participated in the Turkey and the Palestinian Cause International Conference.

The conference took place in Konya and was over three days from October 20th – October 22nd, 2017.

The conference tackled issues concerning the Palestinian cause, Turkey's policy towards foreign and Middle Eastern countries, the Turkish-Palestinian relations and the current situation of the Palestinian cause in the Arab, regional and international contexts. Other papers also shed light on media, religious and philosophical aspects of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.

Dr. Ayoub presented his research paper titled: "Palestinian Cause and the Question of Internalization: Boycott as a Strategy".

The paper discusses the obvious contradiction between the fact that the Palestinian cause is an international issue and the absence of its internationality in the International Will to provide a compromise for the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.

The paper shows that the Palestinian cause didn't result in an effective international agreement for compromise as in the case of South Africa and Northern Ireland.

Dr. Ayoub also discussed with the Turkey's Ambassador to Palestine possible means of academic and research cooperation between An-Najah with the Turkish institutions.

Notes:

  • The conference was initiated by the Necmettin Erbakan University of Konya in collaboration with Al-Quds Open University in Palestine.
