An-Najah National University achieved an unprecedented milestone by ranking 82nd globally out of 2,318 universities in the 2025 Times Higher Education Impact Rankings, placing third in the Arab world and first locally among six Palestinian universities.


This reflects the University’s systematic efforts toward fulfilling the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and its vision to have a global and humanitarian impact alongside academic and research leadership. Compared to 2024, An-Najah improved its overall score from 83 to 90.3 out of 100, showing notable progress in performance, documentation, and response to environmental and social challenges.

The University excelled in several SDGs, ranking 13th globally in Goal 1 (No Poverty) and Goal 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy), 19th in Goal 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation), and 34th in Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), demonstrating a clear strategy to enhance its community role through projects, research, and international partnerships.

The THE Impact Rankings assess universities’ commitment to the UN SDGs via research, policies, community engagement, and administration. This achievement confirms An-Najah’s strong global competitiveness driven by clear vision, strategic planning, and determination for excellence.

University President Prof. Abdel Naser Zaid expressed pride in this progress, highlighting that it reflects the University’s true and systematic commitment to sustainable development as a core part of its strategy, transforming An-Najah into a symbol of international impact in education, research, and community service.

Through its Deanship of Scientific Research and Rankings and Sustainability Office, the University remains dedicated to ongoing development and impactful contributions aligned with the UN 2030 Agenda, embodying a Palestinian story of academic determination and institutional ambition aimed at global excellence.
