In one of the most comprehensive global academic ranking systems—covering over 30 million researchers and academics from more than 55,000 institutions worldwide—An-Najah National University has achieved a landmark international distinction. The University ranked first in Palestine and among the top 0.5% of universities worldwide in 37 specialized research fields, according to the third edition of the ScholarGPS 2024 ranking.


ScholarGPS is a leading global research analytics platform that evaluates academic and research performance across precise disciplinary and sub-disciplinary fields. Its methodology is based on internationally recognized indicators measuring research productivity, publication quality, and scholarly impact.

An-Najah secured the top national ranking in both the Lifetime Research Performance Assessment and the Five-Year Research Performance Assessment, confirming the sustained excellence and global influence of its research community.

The ranking spans 14 major scientific domains, subdivided into 177 core disciplines and thousands of specialized fields, offering one of the most detailed and accurate assessments of institutional research performance worldwide.

In this edition, An-Najah National University achieved global recognition in:
• 13 specialized fields under the Lifetime Performance evaluation
• 18 specialized fields under the Five-Year Performance evaluation

This achievement reflects the strength, diversity, and international competitiveness of the University’s research output.

Prof. Abdel Naser Zaid, President of An-Najah, expressed pride in this accomplishment, emphasizing that it reflects the University’s strong research culture and its growing international standing. He noted that this success is the result of the dedicated efforts of An-Najah’s researchers and research centers, whose work increasingly focuses on interdisciplinary and specialized research, integrating multiple scientific fields to develop innovative responses to contemporary global challenges.

He further highlighted the University’s commitment to supporting research that bridges medical, engineering, natural, and social sciences, generating scientific outcomes with tangible academic and societal impact.

Dr. Zaid reaffirmed that An-Najah will continue investing in research excellence, fostering innovation, and expanding international academic partnerships, in line with its strategic vision to serve as a regional and global hub for advanced scientific research.
