An-Najah Marks Earth Day with a Public Renewable Energy Pledge Initiative
22 April 2025
On the occasion of Earth Day, An-Najah National University organized a public engagement initiative inviting community members to support a transition toward 100% renewable energy.
The activity brought together university volunteers and external visitors for discussions about the relationship between energy choices, climate change and community resilience. Information stations explained renewable-energy technologies and highlighted the importance of reducing avoidable energy consumption while expanding clean generation.
Participants were invited to endorse a public pledge expressing support for increased renewable-energy adoption in homes, institutions and public services. The pledge presented the 100% renewable-energy transition as a shared long-term objective requiring sustained action and cooperation.
Interactive discussions allowed visitors to raise questions about installation costs, suitable buildings, maintenance and access to reliable technical advice. Volunteers encouraged participants to share the campaign’s message through their families and community networks.
The initiative used Earth Day as a platform to extend An-Najah’s renewable-energy advocacy beyond the University and encourage public participation in shaping a cleaner energy future.
