An-Najah Hosts Municipal Dialogue on a Shared Renewable Energy Future

An-Najah National University organized a dialogue with representatives of local municipalities and community institutions to discuss pathways toward a future powered entirely by renewable energy.

The meeting examined opportunities to expand solar generation in municipal buildings and public facilities, alongside measures to improve energy efficiency. Discussions addressed technical assessment, financing constraints, maintenance requirements and the importance of setting realistic implementation milestones.

University specialists presented an approach to developing local energy roadmaps: establishing consumption baselines, identifying suitable renewable-energy options and tracking progress through measurable indicators. Municipal participants discussed how public communication could help residents understand and support these changes.

The dialogue also introduced An-Najah’s public pledge toward 100% renewable energy and invited participating institutions to express support for the wider transition. The proposed follow-up focused on continued exchange of technical knowledge and public awareness materials.

The event demonstrated the University’s role in connecting renewable-energy expertise with local decision-making and encouraging collective commitment beyond campus.
