18 June 2025
An-Najah National University convened a business dialogue to encourage public support for a transition toward 100% renewable energy and discuss practical opportunities for clean-energy adoption in the local economy.
The session brought university specialists together with business representatives to examine electricity demand, rooftop solar opportunities and the relationship between energy efficiency and renewable-energy investment. Discussions addressed operational costs, technical suitability, maintenance and phased implementation.
The University introduced its public renewable-energy pledge and encouraged participating businesses to consider how their organizations could support the wider transition. Participants discussed communicating their commitments to employees, customers and supply-chain partners.
A practical discussion explored initial actions such as reviewing electricity bills, seeking qualified technical assessments and identifying premises suitable for renewable-energy systems. The session emphasized that public commitments should be supported by achievable steps and transparent progress reporting.
Through this engagement, An-Najah encouraged the private sector to participate in renewable-energy advocacy and connected its institutional pledge with decisions affecting workplaces and the broader community.
