On Monday, May 18th, 2015, An-Najah’s RecoNow European project concluded an introductory workshop on their project at An-Najah. The workshop included introducing a presentation by the European delegation on recognition procedures in ENPI’s Southern countries.

The workshop aimed at developing An-Najah's qualifications in terms of training the university’s staff in order to gain recognition from international universities. Staff training will increase An-Najah's qualifications matching European standards and level of higher education.

The delegation presented on the importance of enhancing An-Najah's qualifications in gaining international recognition since it is depending on an international strategic plan in its coming vision which will make collaborations with European universities. The delegation also presented on processes of recognition within the ENIC-NARIC Centers.

The workshop included speeches by representatives of An-Najah on their experiences in European countries such as France, Italy and Ireland.

-          The workshop was over two days from May 18-19th, 2015.

-          The workshop was attended by Ms Vera Lucke from the CIMEA - NARIC Italy institution, Ms Wafa Triek, from the ENIC-NARIC France institution, Dr. Mohammad El-Amleh, Vice President of Academic Affairs, Dr. Imad Ibrik, European Projects Coordinator, Mr. Abdullah Alnasser, Dean of Admission and Registration, Rashid Al-Kukhun, Director of Financial Department, Moussa Abu_Dayeh Dean of Student Affairs, Iyad Al-Aqraa’, SA director and Head of Sport Activities Department, Eng. Sami Sadder from the Quality Assurance Unit, Dr. Jihad Abdallah, Lecturer at the Agriculture Department and  Mrs. Yasmeen Shahrur, Director of the Faculty of Economics' Public Relations Department at An-Najah.

-          It is worth mentioning that An-Najah, along with Birzeit University participate in the project as part of the TEMPUS funded projects.

-          The RecoNow project aims at improving and increasing the quality of student mobility within Middle Eastern and European higher education systems. The project will tackle the poor recognition of foreign qualifications as one of the main challenges that hinder international student mobility.
