An-Najah Visits Surrey University in the U.K
On Monday, April 27th, 2015, a delegation from the Project to the Improve Students’ Skills toward Employability at An-Najah visited the Department of Nutrition and Food Technology at the University of Surrey in United Kingdom.
The visit aimed at enhancing partnerships with food industries and sharing An-Najah’s experience with other industries. It also aimed at exchanging experiences and opening new channels of collaboration with well established universities like the University of Surrey.
The visit was over three days. On the first day, representatives of An-Najah introduced three centers; the Practical Training Center, An-Najah Business Innovation and Partnership Center (NaBIC), and the Palestinian Food Industries Union (PFIU). They also introduced An-Najah's experiences in scientific practical training in cooperation with the private sector and Palestinian Universities. In turn, representatives of Surrey University introduced the university’s experiences in innovation and food manufacturing.
On the second day, the delegation visited Leatherhead Food Research at Surrey. The Food Research concentrates on the consumers' satisfaction of the food products and offers services to Arab and foreign countries.
On the third day, the delegation visited a research center that contains 22 offices of leading companies including those which are concerned with food manufacturing. The delegation was also briefed on the enhanced devices used in health sterilization.
The visit was concluded by agreeing upon developing an exchange program between both universities in the field of food manufacturing.
