Researchers, Professors Ismael Warrad and Mohammad Nouri, from the Department of Chemistry at An-Najah National University, and in cooperation with The University of King Saud in Saudi Arabia, and Karachi University in Pakistan, have received a category 1American Patent from a patent Publication Center in the United States for their research titled“Heterocyclic Schiff’s Bases as Novel and New Antiglycation Agents”.

The experiments were conducted at An-Najah University’s chemistry labs and took over three years of international cooperation which resulted in an international scientific first in the field of preventive treatmentof predictable genetic diseases, considered an intelligent, scientific breakthrough.

Dr. Warrad reveals that:“these organic medications are expected to delay the appearance of prevalent genetic diseases, such as high blood pressure, diabetes, and cancer, through the obstruction of protein bonds that cause the Antiglycation for a long period of time that last to over 30 years.

In turn, Professor Maher Natsheh, Acting President of An-Najah, commended this marvelous scientific achievement by the Department of Chemistry at An-Najah, saying that the university has come a long way in the path of taking the Palestinian scientific context to internationalism.

Notes:

1-      Professor Ismal Warrad is considered the youngest Arab scholar, research production wise, as he has produced over 165 internationallyjudged scientific research papers and he is only in his forties, and his research receives vast appraisal on international research websites, such as “Research Gate”. His name and research papers also receive high search results on global search engines such as Google.
