On Wednesday 9 July An-Najah’s Business Innovation and Partnership Centre (NaBIC) hosted a number of Palestinian innovators. The meeting aimed at creating a forum at which the Palestinian inventors could run their affairs, unite their efforts and enhance expertise exchanges between them.

Dr. Yahya Saleh, Centre Director, talked about the Centre’s idea, its emphasis on the importance of creativity and creative ideas that lead to inventions. This is within the context of a lack of job opportunities in the local market and the necessity to seize these ideas and turn them into successful projects.

The meeting included a two-hour session of mind mapping, facilitating delegates to come up with a set of suggestions and recommendations that will be discussed in depth at the next meeting.

Afterwards, the delegates expressed their thanks to An-Najah National University, represented by the Centre, for hosting this remarkable event, which is the main infrastructure of establishing an association/ society for the Palestinian inventors. They also commended the Ministry of National Economy, represented by the Office of Intellectual Property, who were the Centre’s partners in this endeavour.

Notes:

-       The meeting was held within the partnership framework between the Centre and Ministry of National Economy.

-       NaBIC:  is sponsored by the EU Tempus-STEP Project, and aims at strengthening Palestinian universities relationships with the private sector in Palestine.
