On Sunday 6 July An-Najah National University Alumni Unit held a meeting with a US pastors delegation, led by Pastor Keith Owen. This meeting aimed at fostering communication and understanding, and advancing the exchange of views and dialogue with the clergy of the Christian west.

The participating students and pastors held group discussions on several topics, most importantly: the Palestinian living conditions and economic life, the political climate, and future academic aspirations of students.

In the same context, the students presented an overview on the obstacles challenging their working live. In addition, the pastors expressed their sympathy with the Palestinians and their understanding to the difficult circumstances they experience.

Pastor Keith Owen, the delegate coordinator, had volunteered at An-Najah University several years ago. During that time, he worked in organising similar visits to teach the clergy of the Christian west about the developments of the Palestinian cause. Furthermore, he was one of the trainers of the Competency Development Programme (CDP) at the Alumni Unit.

Notes:

-       The meeting was held at Library Conference Room, Old Campus.

-       It was attended by Dr. Rafe’ Daraghmeh, representing An-Najah Alumni Unit; Professor Maher Arafat, Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology; and  a number of University students and Public Relations’ Department volunteers.
