Setting a scientific precedent, researchers from the Department of Chemistry at An-Najah National University have managed to obtain recognition of the State of Palestine from ELSEVIER, an international publishing house. Until this point, Elsevier had for years been referring to Palestine as “the Palestinian Territories” or “the Palestinian Authority”.

Thanks, therefore, are given to Prof. Ismail Warad, Prof. Mohammad Al-Nuri, Dr. Shehdeh Jodeh, and Dr. Ahmad Husein, for their research entitled: “Structural studies on Cd (II) complexes incorporating di-2-pyridyl ligand and the X-ray crystal structure of the chloroform solvated DPMNPH/ CdI2 complex”

Notes:

-       Launched in January 1998, Inorganic Chemistry Communications is an international journal dedicated to the rapid publication of short communications in the major areas of inorganic, organometallic and supramolecular chemistry. Topics include synthetic and reaction chemistry, kinetics and mechanisms of reactions, bioinorganic chemistry, photochemistry and the use of metal and organometallic compounds in stoichiometric and catalytic synthesis or organic compounds.

-       Elsevier is a world-leading provider of information solutions that enhance the performance of science, health, and technology professionals.

-       This precedent indicates political and national dimensions as it now represents the State of Palestine as an official leading scientific and research model. And this change came through the abundant scientific and research publications of An-Najah researchers on the journal webpage.
