An-Najah National University has finalised the preparations to hold the Second Conference on the development of the city of Nablus entitled “Glorious Past, Renewable Present, and Promising Future”. The Conference will be held under the patronage of HE Prime Minister Prof. Rami Hamdallah, on 16 April 2014, at Zafir Al-Masri Auditorium, the Old Campus.

The Conference is a continuation of the first Conference held in October 2013, in partnership with the Municipality of Nablus, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Nablus, North Electricity Distribution Company and Anabtawi Group.

Dr. Ali Abdulhameed, Chair of the Steering Committee, said that this year’s Conference will focus on the developmental and investment aspects associated with the utilisation of natural, human and civilisational resources; opportunities for urban, service and management development of the City; along with the role of institutions in the City, the private sector and local community. A series of papers submitted by a number of interested researchers will form the basis of the discussions.

The Conference is organised in affiliation with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Nablus, which plays a major role in fostering Nablus’s economic development.

The Steering Committee cordially invites all the institutions, and interested individuals to attend and actively participate in the Conference.
