Prof. Rami Hamdallah, the University's President, received in his office today at the University's Old Campus in Nablus, a delegation from Abdul-Aziz Saoud Al-Babtin Foundation for Poetry Creativity in the State of Kuwait.   The delegation is visiting Palestine at the invitation of the Higher National Committee for the Celebration of Jerusalem as the Capital of Arab Culture.  Prof. Maher Natsheh, Vice President for Academic Affairs, and Dr. Muhammad Hannon, Vice President for Community Affairs, attended the meeting.

The delegation consisted of Dr. Muhammad Shaheen, Trustee of the Foundation, Mr. Abdul-Aziz Juma'a, Assistant of Secretary Seneral of the Foundation's Award, and Mr. Muhammad Mashayekh and Mahmoud Bihali from the Foundation.

Prof. Hamdallah welcomed the guests, and briefed them on the University history as well as it academic and community outreach programs.  He pointed out that An-Najah gives great priority to strengthening relations with all cultural institutions in the Arab World in order to exchange experiences and enhance cultural exchanges.

Prof. Hamdallah expressed his appreciation for the great role of the Foundation in supporting cultural programs at the Palestinian and Arab levels.  He also noted that University is organizing several cultural activities such as the conference on "Role of Translation in Dialogue of Civilization", and "Jerusalem's Conference."  Prof. Hamdallah stressed that the University has an interest in creating cooperation with the Foundation to enhance Arab cultural cooperation.

Mr. Abdul-Aziz Juma'a expressed his delight to visit An-Najah and meet its President.  He said the Foundation appreciates the great role of the university in serving Palestinian generations.  He pointed out that the foundation works on developing cultural projects at the Arab and international levels through organizing cultural contents and awards.  Mr. Juma'a said the Foundation is working to enhance cooperation with Palestinian institutions in several cultural arenas.
