President Assistant for IT Affairs

The President Assistant for Information technology serves as a connection between the University 
President and all University Establishments and Activities related to IT. In addition, the President Assistant for information technology is responsible for setting up the University Information Technology Strategies.    

In coordination with the University president and other administration staff, the President Assistant supervises the following establishments and activities:


1.
The Computer Center
        
- Setting up Plans for continuous development of the University Computer Center in Coordination with the Director of the Center.
- Ensuring that the University Computer Network is up-to-date and operated efficiently. This is coordinated with the Network division in the computer center.  

2.
E-learning

The president Assistant for Information Technology is the head of the E-learning committee in the university which sets up the strategies of e-learning for the university. The following are main responsibilities in this regard.
-
Deploying and insuring the efficient operation of the university Learning Management System ‘called OCC’.
- Training staff on E-learning related issues.
- Building up strategies to enhance the usage of e-learning in the university.
- Developing e-enabled courses.
- Coordination with the Center of Excellence, Computer Center, and IT personnel in this field.  

3.
The University Center of Excellence

The President Assistant for Information technology coordinates with the Director of the Korean Palestinian Center of Excellence to ensure efficient operation of the center. Currently the main service provided by the center is Training in Information Technology related fields. Currently plans are being prepared to provide other services such as Incubation, Software development, and E-learning.


4.
All Computer Labs in the University       

- Upgrading the University Computer labs with up-to-date hardware and software.
·        
- Supervising the Lab Technicians.



In addition to the above, the President assistant for information technology coordinates with the Vice President for Academic Affairs and the Dean of IT in the Development of the IT related curriculum.  

Dr. Raed Alqadi holds a PhD in computer Engineering from the University Of Wisconsin Madison –USA and is a member of the Computer Engineering Department at the Faculty of Engineering.
