Baraa Abu Halimeh from An-Najah University Represents Palestine at an International Conference on AI and Quantum Computing in Tunisia
Engineering student Baraa Abu Halimeh from An-Najah National University recently participated in the international conference organized by the IEEE Computer Society branch in Tunisia (IEEE CS IIT SBC), in cooperation with IEEE CS Region 8. It was held on 18–19 October 2025, and his participation aligns with the university’s vision and commitment to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly quality education and partnerships for the goals.
Baraa Abu Halimeh’s participation marks a major achievement, as he was the sole representative of Palestine at this scientific conference. The event brought together a distinguished group of students, researchers, and experts from around the world to discuss the latest developments in the fields of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Quantum Computing, which are among the most important scientific and technological domains in the modern era.
An-Najah University supported Abu Halimeh’s participation, with him noting that the conference included scientific sessions and specialized workshops. These provided participants with the opportunity to delve into modern concepts in AI technologies and explore the future prospects of quantum computing.
Abu Halimeh added, "The experience was truly remarkable, as I met participants from multiple countries, which gave me the opportunity to exchange culture and knowledge and to expand my professional network. It was a unique chance to learn from others’ experiences and to share knowledge and expertise in advanced fields that shape the future of technology."
He emphasized that his next goal is to transfer the knowledge and experience he gained to the University by organizing workshops and induction courses for students in these advanced fields, reinforcing the University’s role in promoting scientific and technological progress.
This participation is in line with the University’s vision to empower its students to engage in international scientific events and develop their research and professional skills, contributing to reinforcing the University’s position as a leading institution in education and innovation at both local and international levels.
