Inauguration of the First Virtual Reality Simulation Labs in the Middle East for Dentistry at An-Najah University
An-Najah National University made history on Monday, January 2nd by by becoming the first university in the Middle East to establish Virtual Reality Simulation Labs for the Dentistry and Dental Surgery Program in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences. An-Najah is now among only ten universities around the world to acquire this technology.
The Inauguration ceremony was attended by Prof. Rami Hamdallah, Vice Chairman of An-Najah University’s Board of Trustees, a number of the Board's members, Prof. Abdel Nasser Zaid, University President, and An-Najah’s Vice Presidents and Assistants in addition to other notable guests and attendees.
In his speech, Prof. Hamdallah noted that the aim of these labs is to train dental students before interacting with real patients as the dental education is a combination of theory, laboratory, and clinical practice.
The labs feature cutting-edge VR technologies that allow dental students to practice dental procedures in a virtual environment, and improve their fine motor skills to allow for smooth transition to the clinical setting.
