Architectural Conservation Unit

The Architectural Conservation unit was established to accomplish the role of An-Najah ‎National University in serving and developing the local community and to contribute to ‎the protection and conservation of Palestinian cultural heritage. ‎

  • Contributing to documentation of architectural and urban heritage of Palestine.‎
  • Contributing to conservation of historic buildings and heritage sites in Palestine.‎
  • Contributing to raising awareness among the local community towards issues ‎related to protection and conservation of Palestinian cultural heritage.‎
  • Contributing to capacity building in the field of conservation.‎
  • Cooperating with relevant Palestinian ministries and institutions working in the ‎field of conservation.‎
  • Establishing a network of national and international relationships with counterpart ‎centers and institutions.
  • Providing support and assistant to students and researchers in the field of ‎conservation.

Our office is located at a conserved traditional building in the Old City of Nablus. The ‎building contains lectures rooms, seminars rooms, and a computer lab. It also has facilities ‎for workshops and exhibitions.
