The Deanship of Student Affairs and the Community Service Center, in cooperation with the Sustainability Office at An-Najah National University, held a Zoom workshop for over 100 students enrolled in the “Community Service and Sustainable Development” course, aiming to promote sustainability and community engagement.


The workshop, titled “The Social Aspects of Sustainability”, focused on equality, support for marginalized groups, anti-discrimination, inclusion for students with disabilities, mental health, volunteering, and social responsibility. It was led by Mr. Mohammad Al-Daqqa, Dean of Student Affairs, and Ms. Afnan Hassan from the Community Service Center.

Mr. Al-Daqqa praised the efforts of the university’s community bodies, including the Assistant to the President for Community Affairs and the Community Service Center, in supporting SDG-aligned activities.

Ms. Hassan highlighted the university’s academic and research programs, community partnerships, and good governance promoting social justice.

Mr. Raed Debiy, President's Assistant for Community Affairs, emphasized the university’s leading role in community engagement. Mr. Alaa Abo-Dhair, Director of the Community Service Center, noted the center’s active involvement in volunteering, training, charity cards, and housing rehabilitation.

The workshop also addressed launching sustainable initiatives and strengthening local and international cooperation.

This workshop is part of an annual series involving about 5,000 students, aiming to develop awareness and skills in sustainability’s environmental, social, and economic aspects.
