The University has been involved over many years in the development of education in Palestine offering a wide variety of programs at both undergraduate and graduate levels. The student body has been growing steadily in recent years and now, it is approximately 16,000 in number 54% female and 46% male in both undergraduate and graduate programs.

Deanship of Student Affairs

Student Affairs Deanship offers direct supervision of student activities and contributes to their growth as academics and individuals.
It consists of the following departments:    


1. Sports Unit:


Student athletic activities can be summarised as follows: - Designing training programs for team participation. - Scheduling meetings and matches between home and visiting teams. - Developing athletic programs to encourage talented students in their athletic capabilities. - Supervising sports facilities and equipment and coordinating their use.

2. Department of Cultural, Social, and Artistic Activities


- Social activities focus on fostering the relationship between students and their community through: organising student visits to public institutions, familiarising students with Palestinian historical and geographical sites, coordinating student community services, deepening students' sense of commitment among themselves.
- Cultural and artistic activities that contribute to raising national, cultural and spiritual awareness. Increased awareness may be achieved through activities such as lectures and published student work in University publications.  

3. Department of Student Services


Services provided by this department include the issuing of identity cards and certificates of good conduct, orienting freshmen students to university life, transportation between the campuses and cafeteria services.



4. Department of Social Supervision

Community Service: This program aims at stimulating and encouraging collaboration between the University and its students. Every student must complete at least 32 hours of voluntary work for An-Najah National University or for the Palestinian community.
