Since its inception in 1999, the Comptroller Office has been administered by the President of the University and the Chairperson of the Board of Trustees. It provides the University with leadership in financial affairs and disbursement processes. Its primary responsibility is to develop, disseminate and uphold the financial procedures, standards, and systems necessary to ensure effective management of the University's financial resources through proficient accounting and optimal prudence.
The office performs the following duties:
- Verify the accuracy of deposits in the University’s current account.
- Control the numbers and values of the checks withdrawn from the current account of the University.
- Review records and periodic and non–periodic financial loans.
- Review accords and contracts to assure the validity of signer and to assure that these accords and contracts are consistent with the University's rules, systems, and strategies.
- Audit and approve of the implementation of the University budget.
- Maintain detailed accounting records.
- Participate in the annual inventory of the assets for the University.
- Oversee and perform a full range of administrative and supervisory duties in cooperation with other departments and units.
