The Faculty of Nursing was established in 2004, providing programmes for female and male nurses who would be able to work with various medical teams in different fields of specialisations and aiming to improve the quality of medical care in their work places.
Three laboratories have been established which contain the full necessary equipment. These laboratories include: the Basics of Nursing Lab, the Communications Lab and the Midwifery Lab. These labs have proven their great usefulness in improving students' and teachers' skills in applying nursing techniques.
In September 2008, the Faculty started a new programme. The new programme in Bachelor of Midwifery gives new students the opportunity to join this Programme.
In Summer 2008, the Faculty graduated its first group of students. After the first semester of 2008/ 2009, a total of 216 students are studying within the Faculty of Nursing. The University is planning to open a Masters Programme in Psychiatric Nursing and to build a new building for the Nursing Faculty.
The Nursing Faculty is one of the newly-created Faculties not only in An-Najah National University but also in Northern Palestine. The quick and creative improvements which the Faculty has undergone has increased the faith which the Palestinian students and the Society in general has in the Faculty.
We always work to deliver outstanding students and employ creative staff who give the best teaching experience and knowledge to our students, benefiting the wider Society and its citizens.
