About us

The College of Law, established in 1995, was built as a response to the establishment of Palestinian National Authority institutions and in line wit hthe University's pilosophy to serve the Palestinian people. In 2003, the department expanded and it now provides a Master Program of Public and Private Law as two different specialisations.
At present, the faculty has 650 men and women students in Bachelor’s and Master’s levels.

The objectives of the law program are:

  • To qualify students to work as lawyers in both public and private sectors;
  • To meet the needs of the Palestinian society and to spread legal awareness and education particularly in the field of exercising rights and basic freedom;
  • To promote scientific research on law and to develop legal systems prevailing in the Palestinian society from the Ottomans’ era to the Israeli occupation era.
  • To develop the analytical, research and intellectual skills of Law School students.
  • Finding legal experts who can study and acquires the knoledge of the prevailing legal regulations and legislative developments to face the occupation illegal practices, and develop Palestinian legislation that compiles with global legislation.
