On Wednesday, August 24th, 2015 Professor Maher Natsheh, Acting President of An-Najah received His Excellency Mr. Wong Chol Pak, Representative of the Republic of Korea in Palestine.

The visit was to inaugurate laboratories at An-Najah’s Korean Institute of Technology that were equipped through the generous donations of the Korean International Cooperation Agency (KOICA).

In the inauguration ceremony, Professor Natsheh welcomed the attendees and talked about the Korean institute’s role in providing quality training to the local community. He said that 30% of the institute enrollees are not from An-Najah students. He also commended Korea’s support of An-Najah and Palestinians in general.

In turn, Ambassador Wong thanked An-Najah for welcoming him and for the hospitability in which he was received. He also stressed the importance of mutual cooperation between the Republic of Korea and Palestine. He stated that his country is always keen on providing support for Palestinians especially in the field of information technology.

-         The ceremony was also attended by Mr. Yug Woo Kim, Director of the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) in Palestine and  Dr. Mohammad El-Amleh, an-Najah’s Vice President for Academic Affairs; Mr. Khalid Barham, Director of the IT Korean Institute; as well as representatives of UNOPS.

-         The students enrolled in the institute's courses were awarded certificates by Prof. Natsheh and the Korean Ambassador.
