On Wednesday, July 8th, 2015, An-Najah's International Office held a community Iftar through the American Corner Nablus in partnership with the US Consulate General in Jerusalem.

The Iftar was attended by esteemed guests including the Acting President of An-Najah Prof. Maher Natsheh, the VP of International Development and External Affairs, Dr Kherieh Rassas, the Acting US Consul General Dorothy Shea and other US Consulate Officers, Governor Akram Rjoob, Mr. Muneeb Masri and many other important community leaders in Nablus and relevant faculty of An Najah.

To open the event, Prof. Natsheh welcomed the guests and discussed the importance of this community Iftar in bringing together the many diverse parts of the Nablus community.  He also gave thanks to the US Consulate for their strong support and partnership with An-Najah through many projects related to women empowerment and sustainability.  

In turn, Acting US Consul General Dorothy Shea thanked An-Najah for hosting her and for sharing such an important Islamic tradition with the Consulate and other community members.

The event brought together children from various UNRWA Schools, local orphan families and child patients of An-Najah Hospital.

  • Muhannad Asmar, An Najah student and AC Nablus volunteer concluded the Iftar by singing several songs followed by a Dabka performance by a dance group based in Asira.
