 On Thursday, 21st May t, 2015, An-Najah received a delegation from the Palestinian American Research Center (PARC).

The purpose of PARC’s annual visit was to make connections with Palestinian universities and academics. It also aimed at networking with Palestinian scholars to develop research and projects with institutions in Palestine in order to gain a broader understanding of Palestine's history and culture.

Dr. Mohammed El-Amleh, Vice President for Academic Affairs, commended the delegates for their interest in Palestine and stressed the importance of Palestinian institutions' relationships with American academic institutions.

Dr. Saed Al-Koni, Vice President for Administrative Affairs, talked about the importance of the visit in changing the distorted image of Palestine and the Palestinian people in relation to the occupation; violence, human rights and peace.

Ms Penelope Mitchell, Executive Director at PARC, thanked An-Najah for their continuous support and collaboration. She went on to address the visit's main mission which was to receive exposure to the Palestinian academic environment. In addition, she stressed bridging cooperation with An-Najah by providing scholarships to students and developing scientific research in the region.

Afterwards, she emphasised PARC’s interest in Palestine and their commitment to fostering relationships with academics at An-Najah.

-          The delegation consisted of 12 members of PARC

-          The meeting was also attended by Dr. Adnan Melhem, Vice President for Community Affairs and the Office of International Development and External Affairs.
