On Monday, April 27th Dr Beth Harris of Ithaca College lead the 3rd roundtable of the semester for the American Studies Minor program.

Dr. Harris started the discussion with an overview of her use of political justice as "the use of the judicial process for the purpose of gaining or limiting power or influence, led by examples of political justice in the US and Palestine. 

Students brought up the lack of voting rights and political participation of Palestinians, unlawful house raids of Palestinian homes, the lack of freedom of speech for Palestinians, and the illegal Israeli settlements that are being built throughout the West Bank. Students from Ithaca College in New York discussed the use of 'political justice' and brought up examples of abuses to justice in the States such as the corporate constraints posed on many American farmers, and racism against African Americans.

The round table was concluded with discussions of important and critical questions on the subject Dr Beth Harris posed to the participants.

Notes:

-          This is the last of three round tables held during the spring 2015 semester as part of the American Studies Minor Program.  Previous round tables included American foreign policy in the Middle East and models of American autobiographies.

-          - The round table was attended by Dr Nabil Alawi, Associate Professor of American Literature, and Dr Sanna Towns, English Instructor.
