On Sunday 21 September a delegation from the Young Social Democratic Party of Germany visited An-Najah and met with Professor Maher Natsheh, Acting President the university.

At the beginning of the meeting Prof. Natsheh welcomed the delegation to An-Najah recognizing the significance of the relations between the people of Palestine and the people of Germany.

Professor Natsheh touched upon the different academic programmes offered at An-Najah and twinning programmes between An-Najah and various European and specifically German universities. He stated that these aim to encourage cooperation in scientific research and exchange of expertise. He also stated that there are several programmes offered by An-Najah available to foreign students, namely, the Arabic for Non-Native Speakers Programme and the Zajel Youth Exchange Programme.

Also present at the meeting were representatives from An-Najah’s Student Union. The meeting stressed the importance of encouraging such visits so that students care share ideas and experiences, building strong student movements worldwide.

The meeting closed with Professor Natsheh wishing the visiting delegation the best of luck and thanking them for their visit.

-          The meeting was also attended by Ibrahim Ata, Head of the Student Union, Saad Joudeh, Student Union Coordinator, and Raed Dubie, Student Union member.

-          The delegates were also given a tour of the Old city of Nablus.
