On Wednesday, 10th September, the International Development and External Affairs (IDEA) Office held an orientation session in the library, located on the University's Old Campus for the new cohort of students from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London, for the academic year of 2014-2015.

For the last two years, through an agreement with SOAS University, An-Najah has hosted undergraduate Arabic students from SOAS University on a "Year Abroad Language Program", which is an integral part of the successful completion of their undergraduate requirements at SOAS University.

The Arabic for Non-Native Speakers program at An-Najah is headed by Dr. Raed Abdelrahim and aims to advance the communication skills of its participants in Modern Standard Arabic; listening, reading, writing and speaking. It provides participants with the opportunity to interact with locals and learn the Levantine Spoken Arabic, which covers a continuum of spoken dialects along the Eastern Mediterranean Coast of Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Palestine, and Israel.

The IDEA team welcomed the students to the An-Najah community and provided them with all the information needed to acquaint them with the university and the city of Nablus.
