An-Najah Civil Engineering researchers Eng. Imad Al-Qasem1 and Dr. Abdul Razzaq Touqan2 have published a research article entitled: “Importance of Returning the Earth’s Axis to its Original Direction” in the International Journal of Geomatics and Geosciences (IJGGS). In the paper the researchers discuss the impact of the urban renaissance in the east, and specifically China, on the Sumatra earthquake in 2004 and the 2011 earthquake in Japan. These earthquakes have resulted in a deviation of the earth’s northern axis towards the south, which has led to an increased exposure of the northern hemisphere to the sun (where most of the earth’s inhabitants reside). In turn this exposure has led to thawing of the ice in the Arctic, heatwaves in Europe, the Middle East’s exposure to drought, and other dire and threatening consequences.

Eng. Al-Qasem and Dr. Touqan presented several proposals, such as preventive measures like international legislation to prevent imbalance in the earth’s tilt. In addition, they propose the execution of artificial earthquakes of the same scale as those occurring naturally, to offset the effects of the imbalance. They recommended that the artificial earthquakes occur in the southern part of the western hemisphere. Describing in more detail how these created earthquakes should occur on the same exact date of Japan’s earthquake to ensure the same position of the earth, which increases the probability that the earth’s axis would return to its normal position.
