Students at the Cisco Academy (Hisham Hijjawi College of Technology) won 2nd, 3d and 4th places in the Cisco NetRiders International competition, which is annually organized by the International Cisco Academy.

Engineer Mohammad Zahlan, a teacher trainer at the academy, stated that the number of Palestinian participants was 26, 3 of which were Computer Networks and Internet majors who had just completed the CCNA course and obtained the accredited certificates from Hijjawi College. They were therefore selected to represent the Cisco Academy in the competition.

Mr. Zahlan added that the winnersin the final stage of the competition, in which 10,000 participants from 41 countries are going to compete, will receive a fully paid visit to Cisco Inc. in San Francisco to meet senior executives and end system engineers.

Dr. Samer Mayaleh, Dean of Hisham Hijjawi College of Technology, commended the academy’s participation in the competition and wished the participants the best of luck.

Dr. Musadaq Masri, Head of An-Najah’s Training and Rehabilitation Centre, also commended the Cisco Academy’s role in refining the students’ professional and technical skills. This was in reference to Hisham Hijjawi College of Technology being a teacher training centre accredited by the International Cisco Systems and qualified to train both trainers and students.
