On Monday 31 March 2014 Dr. Douglas Brown gave a lecture to the staff of the Medical Faculty and discipline on ethics when disseminating scientific research. He then joined the International Review Board Committee (IRB) and discussed the work of IRB in the USA and progress to date of their work.

This workshop forms part of the American delegation agenda, and Dr. Brown is a guest on the programme of High Specialty in Family Medicine, the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences. The series has also held workshops addressing the Nursing, Pharmacy and Medical students and discussing the principles, fundamentals and ethics of medical professionals in clinical practice.

Finally, a discussion was held around women’s health issues, with students from the Medicine and Health Sciences and resident doctors from the United States. The discussion was moderated by Dr. David Macri and Dr. Samar Musmar, one of the activities forming part of the “Issues in Women’s Health” course, provided by the Department of Family and Community Medicine.
