The Earthquake Risk Reduction Project in Palestine (SASPARM) has released its second electronic bulletin in both Arabic and English. The bulletin includes news on the workshops, seminars and conferences attended by the SASPARM staff. It also includes details of the local and international contributions made by the Palestinian branch of the project in the last few months.

Dr. Jalal Dabeek highlighted the contents of the bulletin which includes important information about the activities of the project in addition to the training courses, workshops and lectures. In addition, it sets out the vision and objectives of the project.

3. SASPARM is carried out by An-Najah in cooperation with the European Earthquake Engineering Center (EUCENTRE) and IUSS University in Pavia, Italy, within the FP7 group of European projects.

4.  SASPARM aims at reinforcing international cooperation with neighboring countries to Europe in the fields of research. It aims, to reduce the risk of earthquakes in Palestine through improving the capabilities of Palestinian institutions and engineers in the field of seismic design of buildings and raising awareness on earthquake risk reduction.

5. Dr. Jalal Dabeek is the Director of the Center of Urban Planning and Disaster Risk Reduction in the University, the Vice President of the National Committee for Disaster Risk Reduction and Coordinator for the SASPARM.
