Scientific Committee Members

  • Dr. Rabab Tamish, CETL Director, Bethlehem University.
    Dr. Rabab Tamish is the Director of the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning at Bethlehem University. Rabab is a faculty member at the faculty of education and has been involved in several community projects and consultancy activities with international, local and regional organizations on issues related to child development, adult education and teachers’ thinking. She has also been involved in local research projects that aim at assessing the quality of teaching and learning in Palestine.
  • Dr. Adnan Shqueir, Dean of Research, Bethlehem University.
    Dr. Adnan Shqueir Holds a PhD in Animal Nutrition, Dr Adnan is the Dean of Research at Bethlehem University and the Chairperson of the Biology Department. He is the editor in chief of Bethlehem University Journal. He published more than 90 publications in refereed journals, proceedings, symposiums on issues related to teaching and science. His current research interest is on environmental and educational issues.
  • Dr. Abdel-Kareem Daraghmeh, CELT Director, An-Najah University.
    Dr. Abdel Karim Daragmeh works as an assistant professor of post-colonial and comparative literature at the English Department. Dr. Daragmeh is currently the director of the Center for Excellence in Learning and Teaching.  He has published research on post-colonial and minority culture and literature, national discourse in the Middle East, and translation between Arabic and English.
  • Dr. Ali Habayeb, Vice President Assistant For Academic Affairs, An-Najah University.
    Dr. Ali Habayeb is an associate professor and ex-dean of the College of Education at An-Najah National University. Dr. Habayeb is currently working as assistant to the vice president for quality and program development. He has done consultation work on school curriculum development, school teacher professional training, and university program evaluation.
  • Dr. Maher Hashweh, Dean of college of Education, Birzeit University
    Dr. Maher Hashweh is an associate professor of curriculum design and teaching and learning methods. Dr. Hashweh, a Ph. D. graduate of Stanford University in the USA, has built excellent experience and authored many books and articles in the areas of curriculum design and school teacher professional development. He has done consultations and evaluations of BA and MA programs in education sciences.
  • Dr. Shukri Sanbar, Australian Catholic University
    Shukri is a former staff member at Bethlehem University. He worked at BU between 1979 and 1990. In 2009, Shukri spent his sabbatical leave at BU and since then he was appointed as an Academic Consultant to BU.  He also teaches at the Australian Catholic University. His specialty is in the area of educational assessment and educational research. Shukri has just completed two major research projects on self-assessment and common teaching practices in religious education.
