The Board of Trustees is the governing body of the University, which consists of 16 members. The Board functions as a legislative body dealing mainly with questions of policies and strategies. The Board is responsible for ensuring the capacity of An-Najah to fulfill its academic mission for present and future Palestinian generations.
The Board cherishes knowledge; seeks to maintain the University to offer undergraduate and graduate education programs of the highest possible quality in all appropriate fields; preserves the best of Palestine's cultural and social heritages; and encourages meaningful research and experimentation to develop new knowledge.
Members of the Board play an integral and leading role by providing oversight and contributions regarding the University's large scale programmatic goals and its financial and physical resources, and by fund raising for the University locally, nationally, and throughout the world. Among the powers given to the trustees is the power to appoint the University's president.
